Vertebrae jewelry takes the geometry of the spine and turns it into wearable structure. In ABALLE's SPINALE collection, each link references vertebral form and flexes with natural wrist movement instead of behaving like a static chain.

Is ABALLE handmade?

Yes. ABALLE pieces are hand-finished in the United States with precious-metal production kept intentionally limited. The goal is permanence, not volume: objects built with the patience and tolerances of collectible design.

What is HOROLOGIUM SPINALE?

HOROLOGIUM SPINALE is ABALLE's bespoke watch-integration program. It rebuilds the relationship between bracelet and timepiece by placing Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and other watches inside a custom vertebral structure.

Is anatomical jewelry the same as gothic or bone jewelry?

No. Bone jewelry uses actual skeletal material, usually animal. Anatomical jewelry in the fine-jewelry sense uses anatomy as a design source and is made in precious metals.

Is anatomical jewelry unisex?

ABALLE pieces are designed as objects, not gendered accessories. Sizing, not gender, determines fit.

Is vertebrae jewelry made from real vertebrae?

Some is — that's bone jewelry. ABALLE's vertebrae jewelry is sculpted in sterling silver and 18K gold, with no skeletal material.

What metals does ABALLE use?

Sterling silver (with 14K gold clasp) and 18K solid gold; HOROLOGIUM commissions can also be built in platinum.

Do I need to already own the watch?

You can commission around a watch you own or one you plan to source; the build is scoped to the exact case dimensions either way.
