The Founder
- I. Tattoo Work
- II. Light Boxes
- III. Bronze Sculpture
- IV. Gold
Founded by Julius Margulies, Founder and Creative Director: a fine artist whose practice moved from tattoo work to light boxes to bronze sculpture before arriving at gold. The son of a spine surgeon, Julius spent a lifetime surrounded by vertebral imagery before recognizing it as the design system everything in his career had been building toward.
Tattoo work taught line. Light boxes taught negative space. Bronze taught mass. Gold is where the three agree.

The Practice
ABALLE is a New York jewelry house that transforms human vertebral anatomy into wearable sculpture. Designed in our Los Angeles studio. Each vertebra is cast, hand-finished, and assembled by master jewelers in the United States.
Articulation points are tuned by hand until the piece moves as the spine moves: flexion, extension, rotation. Surfaces that touch skin are finished smooth. Production is limited, and pieces are numbered.

The Standard
MATERIAL · .925 STERLING / 18K SOLID GOLD
No plating. No filler. The alloy is the archive.
METHOD · HANDMADE, USA
Cast, articulated, and finished by hand. Limited annual production.
HORIZON · 100 YEARS
Engineered to outlast its first owner. Serviceable for its second.
The 100-Year Horizon
Every ABALLE piece sits at the intersection of fine art, precision engineering, and anatomical truth. Materials that patina rather than decay. Mechanisms that function for generations. The first owner is not the last. They are the first custodian.
Not jewelry, but a future artifact.
The wearer is temporary. The piece is permanent.
